Recently, we've all been trying to find things to keep ourselves entertained, while we're in lockdown. I enjoy cooking, and baking, as well as photography, so wondered how I could combine the two of these, in addition to keeping those of you who read my blog, and look at my photography, entertained. After a couple of weeks where I thought about a range of different ideas, I have decided to start sharing some of my cooking and baking. The first instalment of my 'Cooking With Edward' series showcases an amazing Slow Cooker Chicken Curry. You can watch the video of me creating the Slow Cooker Chicken Curry below: To make this Slow Cooker Chicken Curry, for 4 servings, you will need...
6 large chicken breast pieces (around 650g) 1 onion, chopped Some crushed garlic powder (to taste) Some ground ginger (to taste) 2 tbsp. tomato purée (around 1.5 spoons of a wooden spoon) 400g tin of chopped tomatoes A sprinkle of ground coriander 2-3 tbsp. of Garam, or Tandoori Masala (to taste) 2-3 tsp. of paprika (to taste) 150ml of Natural Yogurt, or Double Cream
Nutritional Information: Per Serving:
This series will be continued, however it will not be a regular occurrence, so it may be a little while before you see my next recipe! Alternatively, it may only be a few days. It depends on whether I'm able to find anything interesting to cook, and whether I'm able to film it! Let me know how your slow cooker chicken curry goes, if you make it. I can't wait to hear your exciting kitchen stories! Ed

i know that the world is a very different place, at the moment, to what it was like a month ago, let alone 6 months, or a year ago. I know that a lot of people aren’t perhaps feeling the best that they’ve felt, due to concerns over family members, or friends, or perhaps they’re battling against their own mental health. Self-isolation can be tough, especially if you have other things that are worrying you. Also, this year, Easter falls in April, and instead of giving everyone Easter Eggs, to share the love, I’ve decided to run a competition! To enter, all you’ve got to do is to follow @EdwardsPhotographyUK on Instagram. That’s it! If you’re already following me, then you’ve already been entered into the draw. To gain a second entry, simply share the competition post on your Story, and tag/mention @EdwardsPhotographyUK. In order for this entry to count, your account must be made public, before you share the post on your Story, and tag/mention me, as otherwise, I won't get the notification that you've tagged/mentioned me, and therefore the entry won't count! You can find a link to my Instagram page by clicking the 'Enter Here!' button, below. PRIZES: 1st Place: 3 printed photographs, of your choice, from my website, or social media 2nd Place: 2 printed photographs, of your choice, from my website, or social media 3rd Place: 1 printed photograph, of your choice, from my website, or social media The competition closes at 23:59 BST, on Sunday, 19th April 2020. Terms and Conditions apply. Good Luck! Terms and Conditions:
This competition is open to anyone that has an Instagram account, is aged 13 or over at the time of entry, and resides in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales). Entry is free, however mobile data charges may apply. To enter, follow @EdwardsPhotographyUK on Instagram, before the closing date. Anyone who is following @EdwardsPhotographyUK prior to the competition’s start date is automatically entered into the draw. Entry is available to individuals only, and is not open to businesses. Should a business be randomly selected as one of the competition's winners, the winner will be drawn again, until an individual is chosen as a winner, rather than a business. The selection process is completely random. The competition’s start date is Monday, 6th April 2020. The competition runs for 14 days, and closes on Sunday 19th April 2020, at 23:59 BST. For a second entry to the competition, users can share the ‘Competition Post’ on their story, and tag or mention @EdwardsPhotographyUK. By tagging or mentioning @EdwardsPhotographyUK, Instagram notifies @EdwardsPhotographyUK that they have been tagged in a story, by the user, and this user will then gain an additional entry into the draw. Participants can only have a maximum of 2 [two] entries into the draw, per Instagram account, and any subsequent entries will not be included. If a participant has multiple Instagram accounts, they can enter multiple times, using these accounts, but the same Terms and Conditions will apply. For example, if a participant has 3 [three] Instagram accounts, they are eligible for a maximum of 6 [six] entries into the prize draw. Once the competition has closed, Edward’s Photography UK will select 3 [three] winners, at random, from all eligible entries. As I am sure that you’re seen in the news, over the past few days, Coronavirus (COVID-19) is becoming increasingly worse. Yesterday, the Prime Minister issued a statement, which advised us not to go to any mass gatherings, and have advised us against any travel, unless it is absolutely necessary.
There are a number of different categories, that people fall in to, that are being classified as ‘high risk’ groups. One of these ‘high risk’ groups is for people with diabetes. As I have Type 1 Diabetes, I am one of those people that is at ‘high risk’ of getting Coronavirus. In addition to being at ‘high risk’ of getting Coronavirus, I also work in a petrol station, where we can see between 300 and 500 people, passing through the doors, for one reason or another. As a ‘high risk’ individual, it has been decided, after speaking to my GP, that I should not be at work, during at the moment, due to the vast amount of people that I would come into contact with, as well as a number of other factors. Furthermore, as well as being at ‘high risk’, and the fact that I am not working, at the moment, my college has also closed, until further notice, in order to reduce the risk of transferring the infection to other individuals, including the teaching and support staff, other students, receptionists, and any other individual, that works at the college. Moreover, my mum works for the NHS, and was sent home from work, this morning, with similar symptoms to that of Coronavirus. This is only a precautionary measure, as she hasn’t been tested positive for the Coronavirus, however she is now self-isolating, for the government advised period of 14 days. My dad has also stopped working, and will self-isolate for the 14 day period, as both my mum and my dad live together. My brother was collected from sixth form, this morning, and will also be self-isolating, as they all live together. I, however, don’t live with my parents, although I am still making the decision, after speaking with my GP, to self-isolate for the minimum of 14 days, as advised by the government. As a result of this, I will not be in attendance of any events, photo-shoots, or otherwise, for the minimum of 14 days. I will make the decision, along with advice from the government, and my GP, after the 14 day period, as to whether I should continue to self-isolate, or whether it is okay for me to return to my usual commitments. I anticipate that the decision will be made for me to continue to isolate myself, due to the fact that I will still be at a greater risk of getting Coronavirus, however I will base my judgement on what the government, and my GP, say, at that time. Even though this is a lot for me to take in – especially finding out that at least one member of my family my have the virus – I am going to continue to edit the photographs in which I have already taken, and hope to upload those to my social media channels, and my website, in the next few weeks. In addition to this, I will still try to respond to any emails that you send me, as quickly as possible, however this may take a little longer, as I may receive more emails than usual. I am a one-man-band, and I complete all of the photography jobs, including taking the photographs, editing them, and uploading them online, as well as all of the admin jobs, such as responding to emails, sorting and organising customer orders, and booking photoshoots, so having to re-arrange and reschedule everything is going to be absolutely crazy, and I ask for your patience during this uncertain, and difficult time. If you have any questions, or if you’d like to get in contact with me, then please don’t hesitate to contact me in the usual ways, either via email, through my website, or through any of my social media channels, which I will list at the end of this statement. Thank you for your continued support. I really appreciate it, during this uncertain time. Please continue to stay as safe as possible, and follow the government’s guidelines.
